When I tag a =hyperlink( ) on my spreadsheet to a mail merge, the merge breaks the link. What is the solution?

1. Create 2 column headers on your data source spreadsheet

  • one header to be used to paste the web Url
  • one header to be used to add the Text to display in your mail merge

2. Use the Insert link tool to tag your column headers when creating your Email Template.

  • add the column header name containing the Url between double curly brackets
  • add the column header name containing the Text to display double curly brackets

Recipients will receive your email with the hyperlink

Warning:

  • column header names are case sensitive
  • urls containing .jpg suffix will not work
